Major highways abruptly closed: None.
AKRON:
• Interstate 76 lane restrictions and ramp closings: Until late November, I-76 between Grant Street and Inman Street will be reduced to two lanes in each direction; the I-76 eastbound entrance ramp from Grant Street is closed. Detour is Thornton Street to South Main Street; the ramp from I-77 northbound to I-76 westbound will be closed. Detour will be I-277 westbound to I-76/Kenmore leg eastbound; and the ramp from state Route 8 southbound to I-77 northbound/I-76 westbound will be closed. Detour will be I-77 southbound to I-277 westbound to I-76/Kenmore leg eastbound. The ramp from I-76 eastbound to I-77 southbound will be closed for bridge removal. Detour will be I-76/Kenmore leg westbound to I-277 eastbound to I-77 southbound.
• South Main Street ramp to I-76 eastbound: Closed through late November. Detour will be South Main to South Street to I-76.
• I-76, between Fuller Street and the Portage County line: Lane restrictions in both directions until further notice for bridge and pavement repairs nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• I-76, between Dart Avenue and Wolf Ledges Parkway: Nightly lane restrictions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. until later in October for road construction.
• I-76 , under Wolf Ledges Parkway: There will be nightly 15-minute traffic stoppages in both directions from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late October for bridge removal.
• Wolf Ledges Parkway, over I-76/I-77: Closed until next summer for a bridge replacement. Detour will be Wolf Ledges to Crosier Street to Grant Street to Thornton Street. The North Connector between Grant Street and Wolf Ledges will also be closed permanently. A detour will be posted.
• South Main Street and South Broadway, between Miller Road and Bartges Street: Lane restrictions for road construction until further notice.
• Voris Street, between Sweitzer Street and South Broadway: Closed through mid-November. Detour will be Miller Street to Bellows Street to East South Street to Grant Street to Voris Street.
• Crosier Street, between South Main Street and South Broadway: Permanently closed. Detour is South Main to Long Street to Broadway.
• East Tallmadge Avenue, between North Main Street and Oxford Avenue: Various lane closings until late October for sewer lining work. Traffic maintained in both directions, and access will be maintained to all properties. Emergency vehicles will have complete access at all times.
• Evans Avenue, between Home Avenue and Brittain Road: Closed until November at the storage basin site, east of the railroad crossing, for sanitary, storm and water tie-ins. Local traffic will be maintained up to the closure point from Brittain Road or Home Avenue. A detour will be posted.
• South Case Street, between East Market Street and South Arlington Street: Closed until late January for sewer work. A detour will be posted. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
• Coventry Street and Highview Avenue, between Palmetto Avenue and East Waterloo Road: Lane restrictions for gas main replacement through mid-December. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions, except for a portion of the work that will require the south end of Coventry Street at East Waterloo to be closed. A detour will be posted at that time. Work zones will change as the project progresses so traffic patterns may change.
• Triplett Boulevard and Lindsay Avenue, between South Arlington street and Kelly Avenue: Lane restrictions for gas main replacement through early December. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions, except for a portion of the work that will require the east end of Lindsay Avenue to be closed. Work zones will change as the project progresses so traffic patterns may change.
• East Market Street, between South Arlington Road and South Case Avenue: The right lane eastbound in front of 1004 East Market Street will be closed until late January for building demolition and park construction. The work is part of a sewer separation project. Traffic will be maintained.
• West Market Street, west of North Hawkins Avenue: The right westbound lane will be closed during daytime until the end of October for traffic signal, storm sewer and sidewalk work at the West Market Street Station project. Traffic will be maintained in the left lane.
• South Arlington Street, between East Market Street and Johnston Street: Lane restrictions until early November for water service connections and sewer repairs. Traffic will be maintained. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
• Cuyahoga Street, on the south side west of North Howard Street: Most of the eastbound right turn lane will be closed, but right turns will be permitted onto North Howard until late December for work on the Howard Street Storage Basin. Traffic will be maintained in both directions.
• Brown Street, under I-76/I-77: Closed through late November for bridge construction. Detour is East Thornton Street to Grant Street to Morgan Avenue to Brown Street.
• Brown Street, between Johnston Street and South Street: Closed until further notice for deck removal on the structure over Brown Street. Planned detour will use East Thornton Street, Grant Street, Morgan Avenue and Brown Street.
• Cedar Street, between Rhodes Avenue and Rand Avenue: Lane restrictions for road widening and underground utility work until late 2017. Traffic has been shifted into the left lanes and access to all of the side streets is being maintained.
• Ridgecrest Road, between Mayfair Road and Sunnyside Avenue: Closed until mid-January for sewer work for about four months. A detour is posted.
• West Emerling Avenue, between South Main Street and Firestone Parkway: Closed to traffic until late November for a full improvement project. A detour is posted.
• Hillsdale Avenue, between Barwell Street and Kathleen Street: Closed until mid-November for a sewer reconstruction project. Detour via Woodrow Street, Doris Avenue and Aqueduct Street.
• River Street, between East Exchange Street and South Case Avenue: Closed until about late January for building demolition work. A detour is posted.
• Market Street downtown exit ramp off state Route 59 East: Closed until the end of the year because of construction work starting along Dart Avenue, in preparation for removal of Route 59 between West Exchange Street and West Market Street starting in February.
• Merriman Road, between Memorial Parkway and Kingswood Drive: Closed for a gas main replacement and sewer separation project. Detour via Memorial Parkway and North Portage Path. It is expected to be closed until December.
• Bank Street bridge, between North Case Avenue and Williams Street: Closed until late October for a bridge replacement. A detour will be posted. Local traffic should use Kent Street and Williams Street to avoid construction.
• Eaton Avenue, between Newport and Merriman roads: Closed for several months for water main work. A detour is posted. Emergency vehicles have complete access at all times.
• Rand Avenue and Dart Avenue, between West Exchange Street and West Market Street: Traffic on both streets has been shifted into the right lanes and work has begun in the left lanes. This is in preparation for the removal of state Route 59 between West Exchange and West Market which is planned for early in 2017. Traffic will be maintained.
• West Waterloo Road, between Eagon Street and 30th Street Southwest: Closed for sewer reconstruction until late October. A detour is posted. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
• Riverview Road, between Smith Road and Bath Road: Closed until further notice to rehabilitate a portion of the Main Outfall Sewer. There will also be lane restrictions from Lock 22 Plaza on Merriman to Smith Road. Detours are posted.
• East Wilbeth Road, between Brown Street and I-77: Closed for construction until late October. A detour will be posted. Local residents and emergency vehicles will have access on East Wilbeth between South Main Street and Brown Street.
• Glendale Avenue, from Rand Avenue to the intersection of Locust Street: Closed until late 2018 for work on the combined sewer overflows project at the Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel. Detours will be posted. The right lane of West Mill Street, west of Dart Avenue, and the south 150 feet of Bates Street will also be closed. Detours will be posted.
• East Market Street, between Cook Street and Willard Street: Lane restrictions for sanitary sewer repairs and water main construction until mid-November. Work includes reconstruction of walks, lighting, crosswalks and resurfacing. Lane configurations will be changed as work progresses.
• Copley Road, at the intersection of Collier Road: Lane restrictions for installation of a new signal pole at the north side of the intersection. Work will be completed in late November. Traffic maintained in all directions with flaggers on site as needed.
• White Pond Drive, at the I-77 northbound and southbound ramps: Occasional lane closings to replace traffic signals. It will be completed in late November. Most work will be performed behind existing guardrails. Traffic will be maintained at all times.
• Seiberling Street, between Twain Avenue and Poe Avenue: Closed until late October. Traffic maintained for entrance to Goodyear parking deck and local businesses. A detour will be posted.
• Seiberling Street, between Innovation Way/Seiberling Street roundabout and Archwood Avenue: The road has been reopened to through traffic in both directions, but it will be shifted to the west side of the street until reconstruction of sanitary sewers is completed in early November.
• Dan Street, between East North Street and Evans Avenue: The road is closed for sanitary and storm sewer construction until November.
• Hickory Street, between North Street and Memorial Parkway: Closed until late 2018 to prepare for work on the Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel. It includes the temporary relocation of the Towpath Trail to Hickory Street from Maple Street to near Memorial Parkway.

• Barber Road ramp to I-76 eastbound in Barberton: Closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday for a bridge deck pour. Detour will be state Route 261 to Cleveland-Massillon Road.
• I-76, between the Medina County line and Central Avenue in Norton and Barberton: Nightly lane restrictions through April for pavement repairs.
• Arlington Road ramps to I-77 northbound in Green and Coventry Township: Nightly closings through Thursday morning from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for resurfacing. Detour will be Arlington Road northbound to Waterloo Road westbound to I-77, or I-77 southbound to state Route 241/Massillon Road to I-77 northbound.
• I-77 south, between state Route 241 and Killian Road in Green and Coventry Township: Lane restrictions in both directions until further notice from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly for resurfacing.
• I-77 northbound, between the Stark County line and Lauby Road in Green: Reduced to two lanes through mid-November for slope repair.
• Cleveland-Massillon Road, between Greenridge Road and Pleasant Drive in Norton: Occasional lane restrictions during off-peak hours through mid-December for road widening.
• North Van Buren Avenue and Fairview Avenue in Barberton: Until further notice, there will be daily lane restrictions for resurfacing on North Van Buren Avenue between Robinson Avenue and Fairview Avenue, and on Fairview Avenue between Norton Avenue and state Route 619.
• State Route 18/Medina Road in Bath and Copley townships: Creekrun Road at Route 18 will be closed through mid-November for a bridge replacement. Detour will be Westmont Boulevard to Hametown Road. State Route 18/Medina Road between Hametown Road and Medina Line Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction through early November for bridge replacement. Occasional lane restrictions between I-77 and Hametown Road for road widening until further notice.
• State Route 91 (North Avenue) southbound, between Howe Road and the Tallmadge Circle: Closed through mid-December for road widening. Detour is Howe Road to state Route 261 (Northeast Avenue).
• I-480 eastbound, between the Cuyahoga County line and Portage County line in Twinsburg: Nightly lane restrictions through Friday morning from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for placement of raised pavement markers.
• State Route 91 and Glenwood Drive in Twinsburg: Westbound traffic on Glenwood is restricted to right turns only onto Route 91 northbound until late October. Eastbound traffic on Glenwood is restricted to right turns only onto Route 91 southbound through late October.
• State Route 91, between Post Road and Glenwood Drive in Twinsburg: Daily lane restrictions for drainage installation and widening of the northbound side of state Route 91 until further notice. The project also includes drainage repairs and installation of a roundabout on Route 91 and Glenwood Drive.
• I-271 in Richfield and Richfield Township: There is a bidirectional traffic pattern on I-271 northbound from just north of the Medina County line to the Ohio Turnpike. Although two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction on I-271 southbound, traffic will be split with one lane of southbound traffic crossed over onto I-271 northbound while the second lane remains on the I-271 southbound side.
• Ledge Road under I-271 in Macedonia: Closed through Sunday evening for waterline work. Detour will be state Route 8 to Alexander Road to state Route 82.
• I-271, between state Route 8 and the Cuyahoga County line in Macedonia: Lane restrictions for road widening until further notice. Speed limit in this area is reduced to 50 mph during construction.
• I-271 southbound, one mile south of state Route 8 in Northfield Center Township: Reduced to two 10-foot lanes for slope repair until further notice.
• State Route 82, between state Route 8 and South Bedford Road in Macedonia: There will be nightly lane restrictions for road resurfacing until further notice.
• State Route 82, between Alexandria Drive and Longwood Park in Macedonia: Daily lane restrictions for restriping until further notice.
MEDINA COUNTY:
• I-71, between I-76 and state Route 18: Nightly lane closings as well as intermittent daily lane closings Monday through Friday for a preventive maintenance project. The speed limit is 55 miles per hour when workers/work zones are present. It is expected to be completed in October.
• I-71 southbound exit ramp and state Route 303: The ramp and Route 303 just west of the I-71 interchange will have possible intermittent daily lane closings for road widening until later in October.
• I-71, just south of the Wayne County line to just south of I-76: Evening single-lane closings and nightly two-lane closings for a preventive maintenance project. It is expected to completed in October.
• I-76, at its interchange with state Route 94 (High Street) in Wadsworth: Intermittent single-lane closings on Route 94 (High Street) as part of the Route 94 corridor improvement project. I-76 currently has the inside and outside shoulders closed. Off-peak lane closings are possible. Route 94 will be reduced to one lane of through traffic in each direction with a center left-turn lane to complete widening along the project corridor. Work will continue through November. Delays should be expected and motorists should use an alternate route when possible.
• U.S. 42 (Pearl Road)/Fenn Road improvement project: Intermittent lane restrictions at the intersection of Fenn Road for striping and project finalization work through October.
• U.S. 42, from just south of Harding Street to just south of Fenn Road: Possible intermittent lane closings for a widening project until further notice.
• State Route 18, from Boneta Road to just west of the Summit County line: Possible intermittent lane restrictions for pavement repairs. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in October.
• State Route 162 lane closings: Route 162, from U.S. 42 to state Route 94 (excluding state Route 3 overlap) and from Route 94 to the Summit County line, will have daily intermittent lane closings for a preventive maintenance project. One lane of traffic will be maintained with flaggers. It is expected to be complete in October.
• State Route 606, from state Route 3 to state Route 94: Reduced to one lane of traffic until October for resurfacing. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers.
• Smith Road, between Spencer Road and River Corners Road in Spencer Township: Closed until early November for bridge reconstruction.
• Smith Road, between the east Medina limits and River Styx Road in Montville Township: Closed on Tuesday for pavement repairs.
• Reimer Road, between Wadsworth Road and Beach Road in Wadsworth Township: Closed Wednesday for pavement repairs.
PORTAGE COUNTY:
• Allen Drive, between Erin Drive and Verona Avenue in Kent: Closed through mid-December for a bridge replacement. Detour will be Erin Drive to Fairchild Avenue to Hudson Road to Whetstone Drive to Verona Avenue.
• State Route 261, just east of Mogadore Road in Kent: Occasional lane restrictions for minor bridge repairs until further notice.
• State Route 183, between the Stark County line and the northern intersection of U.S. 224: Daily lane restrictions for resurfacing until late October.
• State Route 43, over I-80/Ohio Turnpike in Streetsboro: Lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for bridge repairs through early October.
• State Route 14 at Lake Rockwell in Streetsboro: Closed until further notice for emergency bridge repairs. Detour is state Route 303 to state Route 44.
• State routes 82 and 305 in Hiram: Until further notice, Route 82 just south of Route 305 and Route 305 just west of the Route 82/state Route 700 intersection will have occasional lane restrictions for sidewalk installation.
• Norton Road, between state Route 700 and state Route 88 in Hiram Township: Closed through late October for a bridge replacement. A detour is posted.
STARK COUNTY:
• U.S. 30 in Canton and Canton Township: Between Route 297/Raff Road and state Route 43/Waynesburg Road, there will be lane restrictions for pavement repairs and resurfacing until further notice.
• U.S. 62, between Kings Highway and state Route 93 in Sugar Creek Township: Closed until mid-November for two bridge deck replacements. Detour will be Route 93 to state Route 212 to state Route 21.
• State Route 43, between 55th Street and Schneider Street in North Canton and Plain Township: Daily lane restrictions for drainage repairs until further notice.
• State Route 93 in Canal Fulton: Closed at Locust Street through late November for intersection reconstruction. Detour will be state Route 236 to state Route 21.
WAYNE COUNTY:
• U.S. 30, just east of Kidron Road: Intermittent daytime lane closings reducing eastbound traffic to one lane for bridge repairs until later in October.
• U.S. 30, at the McQuaid Road overpass: Reduced to one lane eastbound only for bridge repairs until November. McQuaid Road is now closed. It is expected to reopen Nov. 18.
• State Route 95, from the Ashland County line to state Route 3: Reduced to one lane of traffic for resurfacing until October. One lane of traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
• State Route 302, from Wooster to the Ashland County line: Possible intermittent lane closings until later in October to complete a chip seal project.
• State Route 604, one-half mile west of Camp Road: Closed for bridge repairs until the end of October. A detour is posted.
• State Route 604, just west of Oller Road: Closed Tuesday through Thursday for a culvert replacement. A detour will be posted.
Elsewhere in Northeast Ohio:
• I-77 bridge over Cuyahoga River Valley, Independence and Cuyahoga Heights in Cuyahoga County: Painting of the structural steel on the bridge will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily with minimal traffic impact.
• I-71, between Boston Road and U.S. 42 in Strongsville and Middleburg Heights: Lane closings for pavement marking and rumble strip installation from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly until further notice.
• I-71 northbound, between Pearl Road and Snow Road in Middleburg Heights: Noise barrier replacement through October. Shoulder closings and off-peak lane closings should be expected.
• I-71 slip ramps, between Fulton Road and Pearl Road: The shoulders will be closed for barrier repairs through late October. Daily single-lane closings should be expected during off-peak travel times.
