’Twas the night before ...

The night before Thanksgiving is always a busy one in local entertainment venues:

• Firestone graduate Joseph Arthur makes his annual pilgrimage home, playing at 8:30 p.m. at Tangier, 532 W. Market St., Akron. Tickets are $25-$35 at 330-376-7171, www.thetangier.com/entertainment.

• Hey Monea! hits the stage at 9 p.m. at Musica, 51 E. Market St., in the Maiden Lane district of downtown Akron. Tickets are $10 at 330-374-1114, http://liveatmusica.com.

• On the other side of Maiden Lane, Blu Jazz+ hosts the Thanksgiving Eve Jazz Jam with guitarist Dan Wilson and Friends at 8 p.m. It’s free. 330-252-1190 or http://blujazzakron.com/shows.

Try some Peanuts after dinner

Sometimes all you need for Thanksgiving is popcorn, toast, jelly beans and good friends. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving airs at 8 p.m. on ABC (WEWS Channel 5), along with a bonus cartoon, This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers.

Autism-friendly holiday show

Great Lakes Theater’s production of A Christmas Carol is offering a special sensory-friendly performance at 11 a.m., making the holiday classic accessible to children and adults on the autism spectrum and their families. It includes a supportive environment, designated quiet areas, adjustments to light and sound, and resource materials. Tickets are $15.
