TALLMADGE
District plans note sale
TALLMADGE: The Tallmadge Board of Education will have a special meeting at 7 a.m. Friday at the McCombs Education Center, 466 East Ave., to adopt a resolution to allow the sale of short-term notes as a precursor to bonds.
Voters approved two bond issues Nov. 8: a 3.9-mill bond issue to consolidate the district’s primary, elementary and middle schools into a K-5 building and a 6-8 building on the current middle school campus; and a 0.9-mill bond issue to pay for the relocation of high school athletic facilities.
The sale of notes will allow the district to generate funds to cover costs incurred before the sale of the bonds.
Tallmadge Treasurer Jeff Hostetler said $10 million in six-month bank-qualified notes will be sold in this calendar year and an additional $28 million in notes in the first or second week of January.
