AKRON: The LeBron James Family Foundation received a $223,000 check from DAP, the company that manufactures caulks, sealants and other repair items for home improvements.
Ron Rice, president of the parent company of DAP, headquartered in Medina, presented the check Thursday night at the East High Community Learning Center, where the foundation held one of its hometown monthly meetings for the students and parents who live in the East Cluster.
The donation came from proceeds of a championship PGA golf tournament held in September. The company said it plans to make the foundation the permanent beneficiary of the golf tournament.

RAVENNA TOWNSHIP
Shooting suspect at large
RAVENNA TWP.: The second victim in a double shooting Wednesday on Henderson Road has died, and Portage County authorities are still searching for the suspect.
David Darnell Calhoun Jr., 25, should be considered armed and dangerous, Sheriff David Doak said Thursday. Calhoun, who is currently on parole, also goes by the name “D Block.”
Ravenna police and EMS responded to the shooting around 2:23 p.m. Wednesday.
LeShaun Sanders, 33, of Ravenna Township, was found dead in the driveway. His girlfriend, Sarah C. Marsh, 32, of Kent, was taken to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, where she died at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. She was 6- to 10-weeks pregnant, Doak said.
The suspect fled the scene, Doak said. The motive for the shooting is still unknown. Doak said he did not believe the suspect or the victims lived at the residence, although the home may have belonged to a member of the Sanders family.
Calhoun’s last known address was in Akron, but “we think he’s been around this area off and on,” Doak said.
There is a warrant for Calhoun’s arrest on a charge of aggravated murder, Doak said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 330-296-5100.
