Get a double dose of Akron history
• What better Christmas gift for an Akronite than a signed copy of The Akron Anthology? Editor Jason Segedy and David Giffels, who wrote the introduction, will be on hand from 1 to 2 p.m. at The Bookseller, 39 Westgate Circle, Akron.
• Joanna Wilson, author of The Story of Archie the Talking Snowman & Akron’s History of Christmas Attractions, will give a talk at 5 p.m. in front of the Polsky Building, 225 S. Main St., about downtown Akron’s history of Christmas windows and their displays.
‘Grinch’ raids Summit Artspace

Holiday celebration in Kenmore
The Kenmore Holiday Celebration runs all day. It starts with a pancake breakfast at 754 Kenmore Blvd. from 8-10 a.m., lots of activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Kenmore Boulevard, music and a tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. at Shadyside Park, and a Children’s Christmas Party with Santa at Park United Methodist Church.
