MEDINA COUNTY
Road work to affect buses
GRANGER TWP.: Highland School Board members were told Monday that school buses will be greatly impacted by the temporary closure the intersection of Granger and Ridge roads.
The Ohio Department of Transportation expects the construction of a roundabout at the intersection will take 70 days, said Superintendent Catherine Aukerman. The work was to begin Monday, but complications with utilities have caused a delay. ODOT is unsure when it will start, she said.
Aukerman asked that parents put their children on the bus, rather than drive them, because the traffic will be “chaotic enough.”
The board also approved bus routes for the 2016-17 school year and a change in the district calendar. Students will be off Oct. 14 instead of Oct. 21 for a professional development day for educators.
