Search on for armed robber
COVENTRY TWP.: The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said an armed man kicked open the front door of a Coventry Township business and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
At 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said a thin, white male standing 6 feet tall entered the Palms Skills Games at 2766 South Arlington Road in Coventry wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket and black gloves. Police said he used a semi-automatic handgun with a laser sight as he ordered patrons to remain seated.
He then alledgedly asked an employee to empty the cash register or the “people would be killed,” the sheriff’s office reported Thursday on its Facebook account.
The man is believed to have fled the internet gaming business on foot, heading southwest along South Arlington Road.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Office at 330-643-2131 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-2677.

NORTHEAST OHIO
50-vehicle pileup
Authorities said an interstate east of Cleveland is open again after a pileup of about 50 vehicles in snowy conditions shut down the highway for more than 14 hours.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said about 20 people were injured in the chain reaction crash Thursday.
Highway crews reopened the roadway Friday morning after the crash that involved a Greyhound bus and over a dozen trucks on Interstate 90.
Bus passenger Greg Carmichael told Fox 8 News he was heading home to Buffalo, N.Y. He says about an hour into the ride, the weather conditions worsened and a truck hit the bus from behind on I-90, causing a domino effect crash.
He said several people on the bus were seriously injured.
Around 6:30 a.m., the Cleveland office of the Ohio Department of Transportation reported that all eastbound I-90 lanes between State Route 44 and State Route 528, as well as westbound lanes between State Route 528 and Vrooman Road, were open.
