Blood was found in Lafayette Township Hall and inside missing trustee Bryon Macron’s sport utility vehicle, authorities said Wednesday.
The Medina County Sheriff’s Office, which is conducting the investigation into Macron’s disappearance with assistance from the FBI and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, would not say how much blood was discovered at the scenes.
“Details past that are pertinent to the investigation,” Capt. David Centner said.
Macron, 45, who served in the U.S. Marines and has been a trustee in the community for six years, has been missing since Friday when authorities were alerted to a possible struggle that took place at Township Hall. His office was reported in shambles.
His vehicle was found about 3 miles away on Beachside Boulevard in Chippewa Lake.
“We are running down all the leads that we’ve got,” Centner said. “As with all missing persons cases, there is a series of things that we do and we’re doing them. We’re working very hard to find Mr. Macron and get him back to his family.”
Macron is married and has three children.
Centner declined to discuss the typical steps that authorities take during missing persons cases.
He also said Township Hall is not equipped with security cameras.
Fellow trustees Michael Costello and Lynda Bowers released a prepared statement regarding the case.
“We are worried, exhausted and our hearts are breaking for the Macron family,” they said. “They are our family too. It is a challenging time for all of us, including our employees who are understandably shaken. We have faith in law enforcement and are respecting the request that all information flow through them.”
