Two people were killed and a third person wounded in a shooting at a Ravenna apartment building early Saturday morning, police said.

Ravenna police responded to a call about 4:35 a.m. that shots had been fired in the 700 block of Woodgate Boulevard. Police said when officers arrived, they found two people dead from gunshot wounds. A third person was also shot, but the wound was not life-threatening. Police did not say whether the third person was hospitalized.

The names of the victims are not being released, pending notification of next of kin.

Police said so far the investigation indicates the shooting resulted from an argument among several people inside one of the apartments in the building.

Ravenna police said they detained one person for questioning and are continuing to locate and interview additional witnesses. There have been no charges filed in the case.

Portage County sheriff’s deputies also responded to the scene.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Portage County Coroner’s Office are also assisting with the investigation.
