‘Carousel’ movie on 60th anniversary ride
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musicals are often wrongly dismissed as sugary-sweet. Take Carousel. The show has serious shades of dark, including crime, death and domestic violence, amid the brightness of its indelible tunes.
