Highland Square is ready to rock
PorchRokr kicks off at 10:15 a.m. in the Highland Square neighborhood of Akron and concludes with a set by the Dreamers at the Main Stage at 7:15 p.m. Bands will play all day on several stages and dozens of front porches, and there will be food, artists and other activities too. Honey, let’s go to the market
Also in the Highland Square area, the Akron Honey Co. is hosting another Market Day near Every Blooming Thing florist at 1079 W. Exchange St. in West Akron. It runs from noon to 4 p.m., featuring locally produced food as well as items like soap and candles. www.akronhoney.com.
Last look at museum’s ‘Myopia’
Time is running out to see the Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia exhibit at the Akron Art Museum; it closes Aug. 28. The museum is holding a “Last Look Party” beginning at 2 p.m. featuring Austin-based all-women Devo cover band We Are Not Men. http://akronartmuseum.org.
Art in the park at Art-A-Palooza

Gather ’round the Circle
In Tallmadge, the Circle Festival offers entertainment for the whole family, food, a beer and wine garden, a Light Parade beginning around 9 p.m., and fireworks. The festival runs from 5:30 to 11 p.m. on the circle (of course). https://tallmadge-ohio.org/
Classical take on classic rock
The complex music of Led Zeppelin lends itself well to classical-style interpretations. Hear the Blossom Festival Orchestra with vocalist Randy Jackson performing 17 Zep tunes like All My Love, Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir.
