An Akron man was arrested Monday on charges of using a gun to threaten a woman during a robbery and attacking his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
Travonte Griffin, 29, of Storer Avenue, was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated trespassing, aggravated menacing, having weapons illegally and assault.
He’s accused of stealing his ex-girlfriend’s TV on Jan. 8. His ex-girlfriend wasn’t home at the time, but a friend of hers was house-sitting. The friend reported she only let Griffin inside after he threatened to kick in the door.
When she tried to stop him from taking the TV, he allegedly pulled a gun from his waistband and told her, “Don’t make me hurt you.”
Some time earlier, Griffin and his ex-girlfriend — who’s pregnant with his child — reportedly got into a verbal argument. She told police he broke her phone and grabbed her by neck and chest before throwing her to the ground. She fled to a neighbor’s home following that incident.
