AKRON: Registration for the Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio (gotrNEO) fall season opens at 9:30 a.m. Monday. The gotrNEO program is offered each spring and fall in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties for girls in third through eighth grades.

Enrollment is limited to 15 girls per team, registration will be open for seven days and financial aid for registration costs is available.

Girls on the Run is an international nonprofit program that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using an experience-based curriculum that integrates confidence building, community service and physical activity.

Teams will begin meeting the week of Sept. 12 for 10 weeks. The season will culminate in an untimed 5K run for the girls, coaches and family members on Nov. 13.

Registration is $150 per girl. Some locations may ask for an additional $15 facility fee, but the organization does not turn away a girl based on financial need. For more information and/or to register a girl, visit www.gotrNEO.org.
