Raycom Media and AT&T have reached an agreement that restores WOIO (Channel 19) and WUAB (Channel 43) to the lineup for U-verse cable customers.
Raycom, which owns the two Cleveland stations, released a statement Sunday saying that its station signals in 23 markets were being restored after more than a weeklong blackout by AT&T’s U-verse.
The blackout was particularly upsetting for viewers hoping to find NCAA men’s basketball tournament coverage and other network programming on local CBS affiliate WOIO.
More than 500 customers voiced complaints about the outage on an online AT&T message board.
Each side had blamed the other for the blocked programming, but both indicated Sunday that they were ready to move forward.
“We are pleased to have reached an agreement,” said Pat LaPlatney, Raycom’s president and CEO. “We apologize to our viewers for this inconvenience, and appreciated their patience during the impasse.
In a statement on its website, AT&T said: “We look forward to a productive future relationship with Raycom that meets our customers’ greater expectations.
