A 24-year-old Akron man pleaded guilty this week to felony charges for supplying carfentanil to a woman who died of an overdose in New Franklin last summer.
Jonathan Becker pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated trafficking in drugs Tuesday. He will be sentenced by Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Amy Corrigall Jones at 1:15 p.m. April 25.
Police say Becker supplied drugs to Alexandria Hoover, 19, who died of an overdose in July 2016. Investigators say powder found in a plastic bag on Hoover tested positive for carfentanil, a powerful drug used to sedate elephants and other large animals. Carfentanil is sometimes mixed with heroin, often with deadly results.
