Man, 32, pleads guilty to selling drug that caused fatal overdose

AKRON: An Akron man pleaded guilty to selling fentanyl that caused a fatal overdose last year.

Steven D. Daniels, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of fentanyl that resulted in death.

Daniels sold fentanyl that caused the fatal overdose of a person identified in the indictment as a 41-year-old Chippewa Lake man known as T.B. on April 2, 2016 in Akron.

Daniels is scheduled to be sentenced July 13 before Cleveland Federal Judge Donald Nugent.

The count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Henry F. DeBaggis following an investigation by the Akron Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration.
