Check out choreography center
See dancers and the creative process up close as the National Center for Choreography at the University of Akron holds a Grand Opening from 3 to 5 p.m. at Guzzetta Hall. The center, only the second of its kind in the country, was funded with a $5 million grant from the Knight Foundation and was created in partnership with DANCECleveland. The opening party is free.
Girls, sex and literary learning
Also at UA, the Women’s Studies Program presents Peggy Orenstein, author of Girls and Sex: Navigating the New Complicated Landscape and Cinderella Ate My Daughter. She speaks from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Student Union Theatre.
