AKRON
Fowl play reported to police
AKRON: Alexa, how do you deep-fry a turkey?
Akron police say someone stole an Amazon Echo and a turkey deep fryer from a West Akron garage sometime last week.
Also reported missing from the Cordova Avenue garage: A lawn mower, four 15-inch tire rims, two Huffy bicycles and two children’s scooters.
There were no suspects for this potentially fowl crime.
Burglaries investigated
AKRON: Akron police are seeking the public’s help in finding thieves who apparently were hungry.
The first break-in occurred just after 10 p.m. Monday.
Officers responded to a fire alarm at the North Hill branch of Akron Summit-County Public Library and discovered that someone broke out a large side window leading to an employee break room there, police said.
Once inside, burglars ransacked a refrigerator and cupboards of the break room. It was unclear what was missing.
A few hours later in a separate case, Akron detectives discovered three break-ins on South Canton Road at Ellet Meats and two nearby addresses.
Someone pried open doors and windows on the south side of the buildings there.
Nothing appeared to be missing, police said.
Anyone with information about any of the burglaries can call Akron police at 330-375-2552.
