Major highways abruptly closed: None.
AKRON:
• Interstate 76 and South Main Street: The ramps from South Street to I-76 eastbound are permanently closed. A detour is posted. South Main and Broadway between Miller Road and Bartges Street have lane restrictions for road construction until further notice.
• I-76, between South Main Street and the central interchange: Occasional nightly lane restrictions in both directions from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for road construction until further notice.
• I-77 northbound, from I-76/Kenmore leg to just north of state Route 261/Vernon Odom Boulevard: Lane restrictions from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for concrete pavement repairs.
• South Seiberling Street, between Archwood Avenue and the Innovation Way/South Seiberling Street roundabout: Lane restrictions for milling and resurfacing Wednesday through Friday, weather permitting. Traffic will be maintained in both directions.
• University Avenue, between South High Street and South Broadway: Closed for sewer repair work until Wednesday. A detour is posted. Access for local businesses and emergency vehicles.
• Brown Street, between Johnston Street and South Street: Closed through early May for bridge painting. A detour will be posted.
• Road closings at South Main Street for road construction: West South Street, Bachtel Avenue and West Crosier Street will be closed at South Main through late fall. Detour will Princeton Street to West Miller Avenue to South Main Street.
• Wolf Ledges Parkway, over I-76/I-77: Closed until summer for a bridge replacement. Detour will be Wolf Ledges to Crosier Street to Grant Street to Thornton Street.
• Evans Avenue, between Home Avenue and Brittain Road: Closed for storm sewer tie-in and restoration work for about one month. A detour will be posted. Local traffic maintained up to closure point.
• West Market Street, between North Hawkins Avenue and North Portage Path: Gas main replacement is under way. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during the day but will be shifted as work progresses for about the next six weeks.
• North Forge Street, between East Market Street and Goodkirk Street: Closed for sanitary sewer repair through Friday. Detours will be posted.
• Black Street, between Johnston Street and Clark Street: Closed Wednesday for about two weeks for sewer separation work. A detour will be posted.
• Cuyahoga Street, between Sommers Court and North Howard Street: Closed for sewer work on the Howard Street Storage Basin. Detour via North Howard, West Tallmadge Avenue and Cuyahoga Street. The closing is expected to last 60 days and completion of the entire project is planned by the end of the year.
• East Exchange Street, between South Arlington Street and River Street: Closed for about four weeks for sewer separation work. Traffic will be detoured via South Arlington and East Market streets in both directions. Local residents and emergency vehicles will have access.
• McGowan Street, between Gage Street and Johnston Street: Closed for about four weeks for sewer separation work. Local residents and emergency vehicles will have access.
• Copley Road, at the intersection of Saint Michaels Avenue: Signal pole installation will continue eastward on Copley Road until July. There will be some lane closings and shifting of traffic, but traffic will be maintained in all directions.
• Mogadore Road, between Stull Avenue and Meadowridge Road: Closed for sanitary sewer installation. Traffic will be detoured via Skelton Road and Gilchrist Road. It is expected to be completed by June 2.
• North Summit Street, between East Market Street and Perkins Street: Closed for a sewer separation project until Friday. Detours will be posted.
• Little Street, between Saint Michaels Avenue and Yukon Avenue: Closed until May 5 for sanitary sewer reconstruction. A detour is posted.
• Bluff Street, between North Summit Street and North Prospect Street: Closed until Friday for a sewer project. A detour will be posted.
• Fairbanks Place, between South Arlington Street and Buckingham Street: A portion of the street will be closed for sewer separation work. Fairbanks Place is usually one-way westbound but will open both ways to allow access for detoured traffic. Work will be split into two portions, but the project will be completed in late May.
• North Adolph Street, between East Market Street and North Forge Street: A portion of the street will be closed until further notice for west tower addition at Akron City Hospital. Access to the YMCA, Adolph Street parking deck and receiving deck will be available from East Market only. All remaining traffic will be detoured via East Market, Fountain and North Forge streets.
• West Bowery Street, between West Exchange Street and West State Street: One lane will be closed in each direction for about 18 months for construction of a building addition. Traffic will be maintained but shifted to provide a patient drop-off area at Akron Children’s Hospital.
• West Exchange Street, between Water Street and West Bowery Street: One through lane and metered parking on the north side of West Exchange will be closed in each direction for about 18 months for construction of a building addition. A minimum of two lanes will be maintained.
• Lexington Avenue and Linden Avenue, between East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue and Riverside Drive: Lane restrictions for a gas main replacement project. Work will be on the east side of Lexington and both sides of Linden, and along the north side of East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue between Lexington and Clifton avenues. Work zones and traffic patterns will change periodically. Flaggers will maintain traffic. The project will last about three months.
• MLK Jr. Boulevard/North Howard Street/North Main Street intersection: Closed until May for relocation of utilities and lowering of the intersection. Detours will be posted. Access to Furnace Street and Northside District businesses will remain available from North Howard, North Summit and East North streets.
• South Main Street, between West Brookside Avenue and West Firestone Boulevard: Lane restrictions for a sewer lining project until Friday. All lanes are expected to be reopened to traffic by the end of each day.
• Johnston Street, between South Arlington Street and McGowan Street: Closed for sewer separation work between from Champlain Street to Matthews Street until Friday. It will continue to shift westward a couple blocks at a time until it reaches McGowan Street in mid-April. Detours are posted. Access maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.
• East Bartges Street, between South High Street and Broadway: Closed through September for road construction. Detour for eastbound West Bartges Street is Main Street to East Exchange Street and from South Broadway it will be East Exchange Street to South Main to Bartges.
• Beech Street, west of Howard Street: Closed until May for a sewer separation project. Access will be maintained to local businesses and also between the Northside Connector Trail and the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath.
• West Cedar Street and West Exchange Street, between South Portage Path and South Broadway: Lane restrictions for signalization work until late 2017. Work continues along the north side of West Cedar between Rhodes and Rand avenues. Traffic will be maintained but shifted into the two right lanes until late May. Work has begun along the north side of West Exchange between South Maple Street and South Portage Path. A single westbound lane will be maintained until work is completed in mid-June. Installation of signal pole foundations and conduit continues on West Cedar and West Exchange. Work is underway at the West Exchange/Rand Avenue intersection and will eventually shift east to the intersection of Dart Avenue. There will be temporary lane closings and shifting of traffic.
• Ridgecrest Road, between Mayfair Road and Sunnyside Avenue: Closed until Friday for sewer work. A detour is posted.
• West Emerling Avenue, between South Main Street and Firestone Parkway: Closed to traffic until May for a full improvement project. A detour is posted.
• River Street, between East Exchange Street and South Case Avenue: Closed until October for building demolition work. A detour is posted.
• Eaton Avenue, between Newport and Merriman roads: Closed for several months for water main work. A detour is posted. Emergency vehicles have complete access at all times.
• Rand Avenue and Dart Avenue, between Euclid Avenue and West Market Street: Both lanes on each of the streets have been reopened to traffic. Occasional shifting of traffic will occur as work continues. Traffic continues to be maintained on West Mill Street over state Route 59 toward Rand Avenue, but it will be shifted onto the right side as other work is being done in the area. The Downtown/Cascade Parking/Market Street exit ramp is closed for about four months. Route 59 East traffic will take the Cedar Street/Exchange Street exit ramp onto Dart Avenue. The Route 59 West entrance ramp from Rand Avenue/West Cedar Street will remain closed for demolition and reconstruction until June 9. Detours are posted. This is in preparation for the removal of state Route 59 between West Exchange and West Market. Traffic will be maintained.
• Glendale Avenue, from Rand Avenue to the intersection of Locust Street: Closed until late 2018 for work on the combined sewer overflows project at the Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel. Detours will be posted. The right lane of West Mill Street, west of Dart Avenue and the south 150 feet of Bates Street will also be closed. Detours will be posted.
• Hickory Street, between North Street and Memorial Parkway: Closed until late 2018 to prepare for work on the Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel. It includes the temporary relocation of the Towpath Trail to Hickory Street from Maple Street to near Memorial Parkway.

• Lane restrictions for microsurfacing on the following roads until further notice: U.S. 224, from just east of I-77 to just east of Kelly Avenue and from just east of Hilbish Avenue to just east of Shanafelt Avenue; state Route 91, from just south of High Grove Boulevard to just north of Rhoadesdale Avenue; state Route 93, from just south of State Road to just north of Linda Drive; and state Route 241, from just south of Beryl Road to Oakes Drive.
• I-77, between state Route 21 and Cleveland-Massillon Road in Copley Township: Nightly lane restrictions from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for resurfacing until further notice.
• State Route 21 southbound, just north of Minor Road in Copley Township: Daily lane restrictions for bridge repairs until further notice.
• Cleveland-Massillon Road, between Greenridge Road and Pleasant Drive in Norton: Lane restrictions during off-peak hours through mid-June for road widening.
• Shellhart Avenue, on the west side of Cleveland-Massillon Road in Norton: Closed through mid-July for road widening. Detour will be Cleveland-Massillon Road to Greenfall Road to Easton Road.
• State Route 8, between Howe Avenue and Graham Road in Cuyahoga Falls: Daily and nightly lane restrictions for bridge repairs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until further notice.
• Cleveland-Massillon Road, between Greenridge Road and Pleasant Drive in Norton: Lane restrictions during off-peak hours through mid-June for road widening.
• I-76, between the Medina County line and Central Avenue in Norton and Barberton: Nightly lane restrictions through May for pavement repairs.
• I-271, between from just north of the Medina County line to the Ohio Turnpike in Richfield Township and Richfield: Lane restrictions during nonpeak hours for resurfacing until further notice.
• I-271, between the Medina County line and I-77 in Richfield Township and Richfield: Lane restrictions during nonpeak hours for bridge painting. I-77 under I-271 will have nightly lane restrictions for bridge painting from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until further notice.
• I-271 southbound, one mile south of state Route 8 in Northfield Center Township: Daily lane restrictions for slope repair until further notice.
• State Route 18/Medina Road, between the Medina County line and Hametown Road in Bath and Copley townships: There will be daily lane restrictions for road milling and resurfacing until further notice.
MEDINA COUNTY:
• I-76, at its interchange with state Route 94 (High Street) in Wadsworth: The inside and outside shoulders are closed. Nightly lane closings are possible this week. High Street, from just north of Valley View Drive to Smokerise Drive, has two lanes of through traffic northbound and one lane of through traffic southbound with a center left turn lane along the project corridor for widening work on the west side of the road. Additional lane closings are possible throughout the length of the project for widening.
• U.S. 42 (Pearl Road), from just south of Harding Street to just south of Fenn Road in Medina: Daytime lane closings along the project corridor for waterline and storm sewer line placement. There will be possible nighttime drainage work on U.S. 42 near Forest Meadow Drive for storm sewer and utility shafts. Culvert work on U.S. 42 will take place just south of Reagan Parkway. Pouring of temporary concrete pavement from Reagan to the north end of the project will continue this week. Includes removing of old hydrants, abandoning waterlines and placing services for median islands and replacing storm sewers.
• County Road 44 (State Road), just north of Ledge Road in Hinckley Township: Closed for bridge replacement until June 26. A detour will be posted.
• State Route 162, from the Spencer village limits to Lafayette Road: Single-lane closings for part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and temporary traffic signals at all times. It is expected to be completed in October.
PORTAGE COUNTY:
• Allen Drive, between Erin Drive and Verona Avenue in Kent: Daily lane restrictions through early May for bridge construction.
• State Route 261, just east of Mogadore Road in Kent: Occasional lane restrictions for minor bridge repairs until further notice.
• Frost Road, between Ellsworth Road and Phillips Parkway and at the intersection of state Route 43 in Streetsboro: Occasional lane restrictions for road widening until further notice.
• State Route 303, between Stanley Road and Bryant Road in Windham Township: Closed through Friday for a culvert replacement. Detour will be state Route 88 to state Route 82 to Route 303.
STARK COUNTY:
• 17th Street, just south of Hankins Road in Massillon: Closed through late May for a bridge replacement. Detour will be Hankins Road Northeast to Phillips Road Northeast to Sippo Boulevard.
• 38th Street Northwest westbound, between Cleveland Avenue Northwest and Guilford Road Northwest in Canton: Closed for water main replacement and road reconstruction. It is expected to continue through September. Detours will be posted. Eastbound traffic will be maintained through the duration of the project. Local traffic will be maintained to residences and businesses.
• U.S. 30, between Harrison Avenue and Waynesburg Drive/state Route 43 in Canton and Canton Township: Occasional lane restrictions in both directions for road construction until further notice.
• Harrison Avenue ramp to U.S. 30 eastbound in Canton: Closed from 6 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Monday for bridge deck overlays and bridge deck sealing. Detour will be Harrison Avenue to Navarre Road to 11th Street to U.S. 30.
• U.S. 30 eastbound ramps to I-77 in both directions in Canton: Closed from 6 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Monday for bridge deck overlays and bridge deck sealing. Detour will be U.S. 30 eastbound to state Route 43 north to U.S. 30 westbound to I-77.
• U.S. 30 and state Route 297 in Perry and Canton townships: U.S. 30 over Route 627 and Genoa Avenue will have daily lane restrictions through late April for bridge deck repairs. The following roads under U.S. 30 will have lane restrictions for bridge repairs until further notice: Whipple Avenue, Genoa Avenue and state Route 627. Until further notice, U.S. 30 over state Route 21 in both directions will have daily lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for paving.
• State Route 43, between 55th Street and Applegrove Street in North Canton and Plain Township: Daily lane restrictions for drainage repairs until further notice.
• Reno Drive, just west of state Route 44 in Louisville: Closed through late May for a bridge replacement. Detour will be Route 44 to Frana Clara Street to Baier Avenue.
