Gyros and a whole lot more

Opa! We look forward to the Greek Fest at Annunciation Church every year, with dreams of spanakopita dancing in our heads. The wait is over starting at 11 a.m. when both the tent and the dining room open for lunch. Dining room hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Hours for the tent, which offers a smaller menu, are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Or order carryout at 330-434-0000. The church is at 129 S. Union St., adjacent to the University of Akron.

Sarah Vowell to speak at library

Enjoy the deadpan wit of author and radio personality Sarah Vowell at 7 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Main Library, 60 S. High St., Akron. Vowell has written six nonfiction books on American history and culture, including Assassination Vacation, for which she visited several sites in Ohio related to presidential slayings. 330-643-9015 or www.akronlibrary.org.

Issues as seen by millennials

The College of Wooster hosts a forum on “Millennials and the 2016 Election” at 8 p.m. in McGaw Chapel, 340 E. University Ave., College of Wooster. Michael Eric Dyson and Bakari Kitwana will discuss issues such as immigration, women’s reproductive rights, police reform, race, terrorism and class divisions. 330-263-2067.

Kenny Rogers still in the game

Wine Walk in theater district

Do you usually rush past the establishments in Playhouse Square, in a hurry to make curtain time?
