■ Former Akron Mayor William J. Laub mistakenly had his second term extended in a story Saturday about the Junior League of Akron’s Designer ShowHouse, happening in Laub’s former home. Laub was elected to the 1920-21 mayoral term, but he resigned shortly after taking office to become city manager — a switch that gave him a huge jump in pay, from $3,600 to $10,000. A reporter relied on later articles that incorrectly gave him credit for sticking out his term.
