Man, 60, dies in crash
AKRON: Police are investigating a one-car crash that killed a 60-year-old Akron man late Friday.
Bryan Kopcha of Barcelona Drive was killed about 11:48 p.m. when the 2007 Saturn he was driving went left of center on Romig Road, struck the west side curb and hit a utility pole. Kopcha was northbound on Romig, approaching the Wadsworth Road and Vernon Odom Boulevard split, according to Akron Police Lt. Rick Edwards.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Akron Police Department Traffic Division at 330-375-2506.

AKRON: John Valle, the city director of Neighborhood Assistance, will host office hours in October to meet with residents:
• Noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Reservoir Park Community Center, 1735 Hillside Terrace.

AKRON: City Councilwoman Tara Mosley-Samples will host an event called the “Addiction, Mental Wellness, Homelessness and Hurting Ward 5 Day of Action” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Grace Park, located off Perkins Street in Akron.

Swap your kid’s costume
BARBERTON: Have your kids outgrown their Halloween costumes? Join the Barberton Public Library from 2-3 p.m. Saturday for a costume swap for all ages.
Bring a gently used costume and exchange it for another at the library, 602 W. Park Ave. You must bring a costume to participate in the swap and the costumes must be clean and in good condition. Any donated makeup must be sealed.
The library will also accept costume donations through Saturday.

AKRON: Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen Scalise will host her Election Day Countdown Fundraiser from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Basement at Waterloo, 255 E. Waterloo Road.
