Go from Olympics to Valley

Lots of local authors are making appearances today:

• What would the Olympics be without that brassy John Williams fanfare? William Guegold, professor emeritus and former director of the School of Music at the University of Akron, talks about and plays the music of the Olympic Games at 7 p.m. at the Hudson Library & Historical Society. • Tallmadge author Amanda Flower appears at 6:30 p.m. at the Tallmadge branch of the Akron-Summit County Public Library, 90 Community Road. She’s the author of several mystery series, including the Living History Museum books set in a place much like Hale Farm, as well as the Andi Boggs young adult series.

• Jeffrey Knowles discusses his memoir Cuyahoga’s Child: Growing Up in the Valley of the Crooked River from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Goodyear branch library, 60 Goodyear Blvd.

Grow your knowledge of herbs
