Lives recalled at Nightlight

The Nightlight Cinema, 30 N. High St., Akron, will show the film I Am Not Your Negro at 7 and 9 p.m. Monday. The film recalls how James Baldwin wrote a letter in 1979 to his literary agent describing his next project, Remember This House. The book was to be a personal account of the lives and assassinations of three of his close friends: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. At the time of Baldwin’s death in 1987, he left behind only 30 completed pages of this manuscript. Filmmaker Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished. Tickets are $9 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. For more, call 330-252-5782.

Author to talk about book

There will be an author talk at 6 p.m. Monday at Akron-Summit County Public Library’s Green branch at 4046 Massillon Road. Ann Kathleen Otto will discuss her book Yours In A Hurry: A Novel. For more information, call 330-896-9074.
