World premiere of composition
Composer and Kent State emeritus professor Halim El-Dabh may be turning 96, but he’s not slowing down one bit. The Egyptian-born El-Dabh will perform a world premiere, Ceremonial Healing of Bastet, The Cat, a composition with audience participation, at 7 p.m. at the North Water Street Gallery, 300 N. Fest showcases Ohio breweries
The 11th annual Winter Warmer beer fest is 2 to 6 p.m. at Windows on the River, 2000 Sycamore St., Cleveland. It will feature more than 50 Ohio breweries showcasing their winter, limited-edition and high-alcohol beers. General admission is $45, which includes tasting tickets for 40 two-ounce samples and a souvenir glass. Jump rope team to perform
