Schwarzenegger quits show

Arnold Schwarzenegger said Friday that he’s through with The New Celebrity Apprentice.

Schwarzenegger replaced Donald Trump as host of the show, but the president remained as an executive producer.

“With Trump being involved in the show, people have a bad taste and don’t want to participate as a spectator or as a sponsor or in any other way support the show,” he said in an interview with the Empire website. “It’s a very divisive period now, and I think this show got caught up in all that division.”

Trump had taunted Schwarzenegger for the show’s recent poor performance; it averaged fewer than 5 million viewers per episode.

Rod Stewart sorry for video

Rod Stewart on Friday sent his “deepest apologies to those who have been offended” by a video of what appears to be a re-enactment of a beheading by the Islamic State group.

The video, posted on Instagram by Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, shows people in black walking in a desert. A man gets on his knees before Stewart makes a motion with his hand in front of the man’s neck.

The singer, who was in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for a concert Thursday, said in a statement the group was “simply larking about pre show.” He said the video was “understandably” misinterpreted.
