■ The front page of Tuesday’s Beacon Journal made reference to a story about health benefits for retired Akron City workers. We prepared a story on the health care benefits based on Akron City Council committee meetings Monday afternoon. Council later decided not to act on the legislation. Unfortunately, that information was not communicated throughout our newsroom and the erroneous headline was written. We apologize for misinforming.
■ Summit County will take applications for dog licenses only on Oct. 22 during the Adopt-A-Thon at the animal control facility, 250 Opportunity Parkway, Akron. A story Tuesday incorrectly stated that the county would start selling the licenses early beginning with that date. Outside of the event, licenses will be sold, as usual, starting Dec. 1.
